"Choose clean vehicle for either short or long excursions"

Green Logistics

Tourists are encouraged to change the mode of transportation or the behavior when using their personal vehicle from their residence to the destination to help save and/or efficiently use the energy or switch to alternative energy.

Vehicles are involved in transportation be it near or far, across the province or even overseas but there are various modes of transportation if you are environmentally savvy. Are you using alternative or clean energy vehicle? Operators can also encourage the use of eco-freindly public transportation than the private ones.

In the past, many projects were successful both in terms of passenger number and reduced energy consumption, for instance, "Travel by Train" initiative by TAT and the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) that proved to be fun, convenient, safe and save the energy. Another outstanding projects were BMTA's Temple Tour or Ratanakosin Cultural Trail.

Travel on bikes is not only nature friendly but healthy. Attractions should provide not only facts about the locale but also information on ways to get there for tourists to make the right decision that fits them and saves the most.

Green Logistics Guidelines for Tourists

Tourists are encouraged to change the mode of transportation or the behavior when using their personal vehicle from their residence to the destination to help save and/or efficiently use the energy or switch to alternative energy.

Guidelines for traveling to destination by private transportation

  1. Car pool as it helps reduce the number of cars, save the gas and lessen the CO2 emission.
  2. Don't overload your vehicle. Over 50 kilograms results in 1 kilometer less per 1 liter.
  3. Maintain the appropriate amount of air pressure in all tyre. Lower air pressure consumes 30 percent more gas that the normal level.
  4. Constant maintenance of the car ensure safety and help lower the gas consumption
  5. Drive speed of 90 km/hour for long distance help reduce the gas consumption by 20 percent or 1 ton of CO2 per 30,000 kilometers
  6. Switch to alternative energy like biodiesel or ethanol
  7. Avoid rush hours
  8. Turn off the engine when stopping for long or when there are no one in the car.
Show your responsibility by planning your trip in advance and choosing the least polluted options available.
