• Baan Huay Kaew Bon is one of the oldest Karen communities in Thailand. It is located 35 kilometres south of Mae Hong Son, and is accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicle.

  • Baan Huay Kaew Bon offers a full day tour programme, which involves trekking to see unspoiled nature. The 2.5–3-hour trek starts among rice paddies, then goes through mixed-deciduous forest where teak trees and wild fruits are found. Learn how the local Karen find wild ingredients and use them to cook a meal.

  • Enjoy a meal in the jungle with the local guide, then return to Baan Huay Kaew Bon. Here you can learn about the villagers’ lifestyle as you wander around the village. After that, the tour goes back to Mae Hong Son.
  • From June to November, you can participate in activities such as rice planting and rice harvesting.
