Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok focuses on giving back to the community by reducing food wastage and donating food to local communities. Delivering food to communities in need is need is our social responsibility and helps to raise global awareness of the food waste crisis.
The Dining Room is a prototype of this project, and we are proud to have donated 2,736.53 KG.By reducing the amount of food waste, we have successfully prevented 5,199.41 kilos of greenhouse gas emissions.
The recipients were as follows:
– Baan Rajawadee Home for Children with Disabilities, Fatima Center, House of Blessing, Mercy Center
– Asylum Access, Tzu-Chi
– Half-Way Home with Mental Disabilities
Excess food that is no longer fit for consumption is then taken to be composted at local family forms as part of a thriving compost program. The local farmers get compostable material at no cost, equipment required to compost and education on how to compost.
