In 1986, the Provincial Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima province, Mr. Somboon Thaiwatcharamart, visited this village. He named the village Ban Suk Somboon after its abundant nature and his name. After that, Suk Somboon community was officially governed under Tambon Wang Nam Kheaw as the Moo 16. Then in 1993, the village became independent from Tambon Wang Nam Kheaw to establish their own Tambon called Tambon Thai Samakkhi.
