Ban Suk Somboon is located near Thap Lan National Park which covers mountains and mounds. Ban Suk Somboon is 400-700 meters above sea level. It has beautiful scenery of abundant nature, a cool atmosphere around 27 Celsius, and has a small river nearby which is the source of the Mun River and the Bang Pakong River.

Ban Suk Somboon used to be called Ban Huai Kamin due to it located near the Huai Kamin River, which has many Yellow Turmeric trees scattering along the river. That is the reason why the village used to be called Ban Huai Kamin. The first settlement was a group of Mr. Pun who migrated from Amphoe Paktong Chai in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Then in 1985, a group of Mr. Rit migrated from Amphoe Khon Buri and Amphoe Pak Thong Chai and settled here to live as a farmer. After that, the village was governed under Tambon Wang Nam Kheaw, called Ban Huai Kamin Moo 12 with the village head as the leader. In 1986, the Provincial Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima province, Mr. Somboon Thaiwatcharamart, visited this village. He named the village Ban Suk Somboon after its abundant nature and his name. After that, Suk Somboon community was officially governed under Tambon Wang Nam Kheaw as the Moo 16. Then in 1993, the village became independent from Tambon Wang Nam Kheaw to establish their own Tambon called Tambon Thai Samakkhi. That was how the village came to be the Suk Somboon community Moo 2, Tambon Thai Samakkhi, Amphoe Wang Nam Kheaw, in Nakhon Ratchasima province in nowadays.
